Redevelopment
A course as distinctive as its setting
The next chapter for Seapoint is about making more of our remarkable linksland, improving the everyday round and strengthening the club for generations to come.
BUILDING ON SEAPOINT's CHARACTER
Seapoint’s character comes from its coastline, open linksland and the community around the club. This redevelopment is designed to make more of those natural strengths, while respecting the character and qualities that members value about the course today.
Our ambition is to create a more consistent, distinctive and rewarding everyday round, supported by infrastructure built for the future.
A CAREFULLY CONSIDERED DESIGN
The plans include four new holes, seven new green complexes, significant changes to existing holes, renewed bunkering and natural sand areas, a new irrigation system and a new halfway house. Pádraig Harrington will play a key role in the design, working alongside Giulia Ferroni and Roddy Carr. Together, they will bring championship insight to deliver a better golf experience that remains unmistakably Seapoint.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Work is expected to begin in early January 2027, with reopening planned for spring 2028, subject to weather and the successful grow-in of the new playing areas.
A phased programme was carefully considered. Following review with the project team, the conclusion was that a full closure would allow the works to be completed more quickly and effectively, rather than extending construction and disruption over several years.

Supporting members during closure
We know that continuing to play regularly will be important to members during the closure, and we are working to secure alternative playing arrangements with local clubs.
Members who wish to retain their membership will be able to do so throughout the closure and into reopening. Further detail on playing arrangements, 2027 payment options and reopening access will be shared directly with members as those arrangements are confirmed.
