Golfers arrived from near and far to experience this rare true links along Termonfeckin Beach. In 1994, the clubhouse opened. Swiftly followed by a growing membership and many top-tier championships.
Alison Murdoch secured the first of her four Irish Senior Women’s Open titles at Seapoint. This victory marked the beginning of a remarkable run for the decorated Canadian, who went on to win the Championship in 2005, 2007, and 2009.
Seapoint began the decade by hosting consecutive Irish PGA Championships. In 2010, David Mortimer eagled the final hole to win by a stroke.
Simon Thorton, a future winner on the European Tour, coasted to a six-shot victory in the Irish PGA Championships the following year in 2011.
John-Ross Galbraith produced an epic performance to win the prestigious Irish Amateur Close Championship at Seapoint.
Galbraith overcame tough opponents in quarterfinals and semifinals. Then, in the nail-biting finale, he held his nerve to edge Pat Murray by one hole.

Leading lights of the European Tour contested the inaugural tournament staged at Seapoint. The Glen Dimplex Irish Matchplay Championship went down to the wire. Des Smyth, a Ryder Cup veteran and local hero who co-designed the course, defeated Paul McGinley in a thrilling final.
